As part of its Heritage Chronographs Collection, French Manufacturer Yema has expanded its range of chronographs in January 2023 with 3 new colour combinations: until 2022 only available with Panda and Reverse Panda dials, they are now also offered in green, blue and burgundy.

Launched originally in 1966, the Rallygraf features a design inspired by vintage race car dashboards, with sub-registers and checkered flag emblems. Its date, time, and chronograph functions are powered by Seiko’s VK64 hybrid caliber.

The Seiko VK64A is a hybrid mechanical quartz or mecaquartz movement. It uses quartz technology for the main functions of the watch and a mechanical module for the operation of the chronograph.

Unlike most quartz chronographs which have a ticking impulse, the chronograph second hand on the VK64 has a rather smooth, sweeping movement, while having a high degree of accuracy which, according to Seiko, is expected to be less than +/- 20 seconds per month at normal temperatures.

  • Caliber: Seiko VK64 Mechanical-Quartz Hybrid, 32,768 Hz

In a polished and brushed finish, the case back features Yema’s historic coat of arms.

What we like:

Retro Feel, perfect colour combinations, elegant design.

What could be better:

Although at this price category materials are calculated tightly, a sapphire lens would be a nice option, considering that they are almost becoming a standard feature.

Super-LumiNova® on hands and dial applications.

With its tachymetric scale bezel, the Rallygraf allows you to calculate your average speed over a specific distance.

The steel mesh bracelet is made in Milanese mesh for more flexibility and finesse. The quick and easy adjusting clasp is engraved with YEMA’s logo.

Grained, perforated leather Rallye-style straps made by a French regional manufacturer match the Rallygraf’s colours perfectly.

About Yema

In 1948, Henry Louis Belmont, a methodical and pioneering French watchmaker, built his own watchmaking company under the name Yema. Mr Belmont graduated top of  his class from the National Watchmaking School of Besancon.

Yema Superman was developed in 1963 for diving professionals. It was considered indestructible and was chosen by the French Air Force to equip its pilots.

At the same time, the first Yema Rally Graf was introduced, which was worn by Formula 1 champion Mario Andretti.

At the beginning of 1970, Yema became the official supplier of the French Sailing Federation and equipped the French national team that took part in the 1972 Olympic Games.

Yema is synonymous with high quality watches, avant-garde French design at very affordable prices.
