In our search for rugged, military-inspired timepieces with a heritage design, it is not often that we come across a manufacturer who shares our philosophy that well-designed and well-crafted watches can be reasonably priced, as well as offer high-quality materials.
Why are Redwood Watches so affordable?
Redwood Watches achieves this by producing small batches, limiting the use of credit and relying on word of mouth, social media and a good relationship with the watch community to promote their watches.
Heritage Military Inspired Watches
Inspired by the chronographs issued to air force pilots from the Second World War, Redwood has recently launched its Recon Pilot Watch Collection.
As you would expect from a classic pilot’s watch, the dial features large, luminescent Arabic numerals that offer exceptional legibility, even in low-light conditions. The small hands display a 60-minutes-chronograph and a 24h dial, styled as vintage aviation instruments.
The Commando models feature sword hands, common in German inspired Fliegers, while the Dakota, with its full-luminous dial, is better suited to solid black needle hands for legibility.

The Seiko VK64A is a hybrid mechanical quartz or mecaquartz movement that uses quartz technology for the main functions of the watch and a mechanical module for the operation of the chronograph.
Unlike most quartz chronographs, the chronograph second hand on the VK64 has a smooth, sweeping movement, while keeping the accuracy of a quartz movement.
