In 1989, Luminox (Lumi means light, while Nox means night) was founded in San Rafael, California, dedicated to providing cutting-edge luminescence and readability by using tritium inserts, which provide long-term luminescence for up to 25 years.

Luminox specializes in custom-designed watches for a variety of military groups and regiments. Among these are the Heliswiss team, the US Coast Guard, US Air Force, the Navy SEALs and a variety of other special forces worldwide.

Already from the beginning, Luminox manufactured its watches in Switzerland, and since 2016 the brand is 100% owned by the Swiss Mondaine Watch Ltd. Group.
