The Swatch Group came up with the genial marketing idea of making a homage to the mythical Omega Speedmaster, by flexing its muscle as the owner of both the Swatch and Omega brands. The result is the Moonswatch, a Quartz Swatch with the exact shape of the original Speedmaster of 1957 but made of Bioceramic, a Hybrid of ceramic and bio-based plastic derived from castor oil.
Getting your hands on a Moonswatch is currently rather complicated due to the high demand, and the watches only being available in select Swatch Stores. And the original Speedmaster is basically a racing chronograph. So we thought: why not make a selection of 5 vintage-style racing chronographs within the same price range, with stainless steel or titanium cases and mineral or sapphire glasses, much more than just 30 meters of water resistance, and, best of all, available online without having to pitch a tent in front of a Swatch store?
